Eastern European Sajdak with Tambour Embroidery

This sajdak is crafted following the pattern of a preserved 17th-century sajdak from the collection of Stockholm's "Livrustkammaren" (inventory numbers #7779 (2508:a) and #7780 (2508:b)). The original quiver and bow case was adorned with hand-embroidered tambour stitches on leather, a technique accurately reproduced using tambour stitches on thin goat leather through machine embroidery. The quiver's form is precisely replicated, while the shape of the bow case is slightly narrowed compared to the original for better compatibility with modern traditional bows.

Original sajdak from the "Livrustkammaren" collection (inventory numbers #7779 (2508:a) and #7780 (2508:b)).

The base of the quiver and bow case is made from 2mm thick vegetable-tanned leather of bovine cattle, with the front side featuring a second layer of thin goat leather with embroidery. The quiver and bow case are fixed to the belt using special mounts, featuring a functional loop on the back. The small straps are secured and adjustable through the slit system on the belt. The entire suspension system is copied from original items currently stored in museums and has been successfully tested in practice. We use historically accurate hook fasteners on the belt. Thanks to them, the quiver can be put on and taken off quickly and conveniently.
